He is the son of Late GhanaKanta Bora, and his mother, Late Aikon Bora. His father Ghana Kanta Bora was a headmaster in AmguriMidle English School, now known as Amguri Higher Secondary School. There is a government aided college now in JanjiTamuliChiga which is known as Ghana Kanta Bora College, Tamulichiga. His mother was an home-maker, a pious and a benevolent lady who kept herself engaged in helping the poor people of her locality. She also took active part in the village Namghar in different religious functions in and around her village. There is a private college which includes Arts, Science and Commerce stream and a High School in Guwahati which was established by her eldest son Radha Bora in her name, which is now known as the famous Icon Academy.
He is married to Mrs. Ranu Bora who is an excellent homemaker. Theyare blessed with two children. His daughter Jahnabi Bora, is presently working as M.D in “Eventage Assam”, Guwahati. While his son Dr. Hrishikesh Bora, M.D (General Medicine) is working at Down Town Hospital Guwahati.
Dr. Gokul Bora is also known for his love for small children. His love for his grandson Abheek Mishra is unending. His grandson is studying in Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri, Guwahati, Assam.
He also shares his care for his adopted son, Mr. Dwipen Bora which clearly shows his affection for children.
